The Beijing Contingent of Chinese People's Armed Police (PAP) assisted with flood relief and reconstruction work in Mentougou and Fangshan districts in the capital, bringing timely aid to people in the flood-stricken areas.

On Monday, a total of 4,600 police officers from the PAP participated in the emergency flood relief and rescue work. They mainly helped with transporting supplies, clearing roads, and sealing river bank breaches.

"This is the time when people need us the most. What we carry are not only disaster relief supplies, but hope for the people," police officer Yang Dongsheng said.

Plus, officers and soldiers from the 78th Group Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) on Sunday delivered relief supplies to a mountain torrents-isolated village in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.

Due to days of continuous heavy rain, Dagui Village in Wuchang County has been severely affected by flooding, which has severed contact with the village.
