Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr has made his first state visit to Beijing. Marcos and Chinese leader Xi Jinping agreed to manage territorial disputes in the South China Sea "through peaceful means" and discussed boosting economic cooperation. The Philippines is described as the weakest link in the Region, when it comes to standing up to China. The trip comes after American Vice-President Kamala Harris visited the Philippines in November. The pair discussed new projects funded by the US, including more defense sites.
