Forest fires in south-central Chile have destroyed nearly half a million hectares of forests and farmland, as well as hundreds of homes.
Soaring temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) finally eased on Sunday.
But that extreme heat is expected to return on Wednesday.
