After mass protests calling for social change, millions of Chileans are getting the chance to change their constitution in a referendum on Sunday.
Chile’s current constitution was put in place 40 years ago by military dictator Augusto Pinochet and is seen by many as authoritarian while at the same time lacking in state oversight when it came to the economy.
Chile has the highest income disparity in Latin American and basic social rights are not guaranteed as they are in most modern democracies.
