Venezuela's opposition leader has criticised Chile's decision to expel Venezuelan migrants and deploy the military along its borders.
Thousands of Venezuelans and migrants from other Latin American countries have been entering Chile through a remote desert passage bordering Bolivia.
The migrants are penniless and exhausted and many arrive traumatised after experiencing robbery, violence and even rape on their journeys.
Al Jazeera's Latin America editor, Lucia Newman, reports from the border town of Colchane in Chile's Tarapaca Region.
