Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murder in George Floyd's death, is set to be sentenced exactly 13 months after he fatally kneed on Floyd's neck for over nine minutes during an arrest.

Prosecutors are seeking the maximum sentence of 30 years in prison on Friday. Chauvin’s defence team is asking for time served and probation.
