चंडीगढ़ मेयर चुनाव से संबंधित याचिका पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट (Supreme Court) में सुनवाई हुई. १९ फरवरी को सुनवाई के दौरान सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने हाई कोर्ट के रजिस्ट्रार जनरल से कहा कि वह अवलोकन और वीडियो लाने के लिए मंगलवार को न्यायिक अधिकारी को तैनात करें. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने न्यायिक अधिकारी और रिकॉर्ड की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने की व्यवस्था करने का निर्देश प्रशासन को दिया.सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा कि वह मंगलवार दोपहर 2 बजे मतपत्रों और मतों की गिनती की पूरी वीडियो रिकॉर्डिंग का अवलोकन किया जाएगा. कोर्ट ने कहा कि खरीद-फरोख्त हो रही है. हालांकि कोर्ट ने इस दलील को स्वीकार करने से इनकार कर दिया कि चंडीगढ़ महापौर चुनाव को लेकर दायर याचिका पर किसी और दिन सुनवाई की जाए. कोर्ट ने चंडीगढ़ महापौर चुनाव के निर्वाचन अधिकारी अनिल मसीह से पूछा कि उन्होंने मतपत्रों पर ‘X’ निशान क्यों लगाए. निर्वाचन अधिकारी अनिल मसीह सुप्रीम कोर्ट में पेश हुए और कहा कि उन्होंने आठ 'विकृत' मतपत्रों पर ‘X’ का निशान लगाया था
The petition related to Chandigarh Mayor election was heard in the Supreme Court. During the hearing on February 19, the Supreme Court asked the Registrar General of the High Court to depute a judicial officer on Tuesday for observation and bringing the video. The Supreme Court directed the administration to make arrangements to ensure the security of judicial officers and records. The Supreme Court said that it will review the complete video recording of ballot papers and counting of votes at 2 pm on Tuesday. The court said that buying and selling is taking place. However, the court refused to accept the argument that the petition filed regarding Chandigarh mayor election should be heard on some other day. The court asked the returning officer of Chandigarh mayor election, Anil Masih, why he marked 'X' on the ballot papers. Returning officer Anil Masih appeared in the Supreme Court and said that he had marked 'X' on eight 'deformed' ballot papers.
