Cats love to claim their territory, but some furry family members of a B.C. couple has kept them from using their new Vitamix blender for about a month after they took the appliance hostage and their antics have drawn the attention of people worldwide.
Jessica and Nikii Gerson-Neeves bought themselves the blender online and it arrived just before Christmas. Jessica says she put the box on the kitchen floor for a "quick second" and Max, also known as their "sentient soccer ball" jumped on top. She snapped a photo and put it online thinking Max would eventually lose interest and get off the box but at least a few people could get some laughter.
She was wrong on both counts and now in addition to thousands seeing the photo on social media and the couple now documenting developments on their Facebook page, Max along with George and Lando Calrissian have been taking shifts on the box creating a deadlock.
As Kylie Stanton reports, "Appliancegate" is still ongoing and even the Vitamix company is getting involved.
