Meanwhile a controversy has erupted with allegations of cash being paid to district panchayat members to vote for the BJP candidates. A large number of people in Ghazipur district gathered at the district police superintendent's office carrying bundles of notes and alleged that BJP candidates had paid them the money to vote for them.
