Death rates from cancer among people aged between 35 and 69 have nosedived, according to a study from a charity.
Cancer Research UK says this is due to better screening, treatment and fewer people smoking, however they also warned that improvements in survival are slowing down and cancer cancer cases are rising.
They are calling for the introduction of policies to combat smoking, obesity and alcohol, which the charity says could prevent around 37,000 cases by 2040.
The government says it has invested £2.3 billion to speed up cancer diagnosis.
