Cancelling canine cuisine: South Korea president mulls ban on dog meat

The consumption of dog meat is a centuries old practice in South Korea, and to this day the controversial cuisine has also entailed farms where the animals are found malnourished, confined in cages, and covered in feces.

But a long standing and often debated practice could soon be ending, as the country's president (and known dog-lover) Moon Jae-in recently announced it's time to consider banning it. Crystal Goomansingh looks at the welcome news for animal rights groups.
