The selection of the design for the National Monument to the Mission in Afghanistan by the Trudeau government has sparked controversy.

The decision-making process for this monument has come under fire, with plans for a separate military tribute in Ottawa already in motion.

The House of Commons Veterans Affairs Committee has even issued a motion condemning the government's "lack of respect for the rules."
