Researchers with the Solid Carbon Project, which is overseen by Ocean Networks Canada, are turning to the ocean to help with carbon sequestration, which aims to reduce greenhouse gases by capturing CO2 from the atmosphere and injecting it underground. They are looking at a region 300 kilometres off of Vancouver Island with the capacity to hold 15 to 20 years' worth of emissions.
