Canada moves one step closer to banning conversion therapy

The federal Liberals have tabled another bill targeting the discredited practice of conversion therapy, which aims to alter a person's sexual orientation to heterosexual, and gender identity to cisgender.

If passed, the bill would outlaw conversion therapy altogether, whether it involves a minor or an adult. Anyone who tries to practice or promote it could also face charges.

People who have gone through the agony of it hope it will spare others from the same experience.
