Canada's minister of emergency preparedness Bill Blair is expected to make an announcement on supporting non-governmental organizations in their response to large-scale emergencies and preparedness on Tuesday.

Blair will be accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary to rural economic development minister Janelle Coultes, Stéphane Lauzon and representatives from the Search and Rescue Volunteer Association of Canada (SARVAC), the Canadian Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and St. John Ambulance Canada.

Following the announcement, Blair and his colleagues will take questions from the media.
