Calls for criminal courts to sit for 24 hours to reduce case numbers

It's being suggested that court hearings in England be held 24-hours a day to help clear a mounting backlog, compounded by protest arrest cases.

The workload in English courts have risen sharply over recent years, due to a reduction in funding and cases arising from new public order legislation.
