Retail sales grew at their slowest pace in January for 17 months as consumers continued to struggle with the cost of living.

Total retail sales across the UK increased by only 1.2% year-on-year in January - down sharply from growth of 4.2% during the same period last year, figures from the British Retail Consortium and KPMG said.

Plus, British Patient Capital, a subsidiary of the government-backed British Business Bank, has invested in a new £76 million fund aimed at backing the UK's next generation of tech entrepreneurs.
