Tens of thousands of people are hoping to leave the Burning Man festival in Nevada today, after torrential rains turned the desert into a sea of thick mud.

Festival goers have been trapped for days on the site, with only emergency vehicles allowed on the muddy roads - but by this morning a long convoy of vehicles had built up, ready to brave the epic traffic jams to get out.
