Fans have celebrated outside a California courthouse after news was announced that Britney Spears would speak in court about her conservatorship.
The singer's father, Jamie Spears, was granted control over her personal and business affairs in a court-ordered conservatorship in 2008, but she has now indicated she no longer wants him to have such control.
It is unclear if Spears will appear in person but the judge has set a hearing date for 23 June.
