British Airways stops selling new tickets for short-haul flights from Heathrow

British Airways has suspended the sale of new tickets for short-haul flights from Heathrow airport for at least the next fortnight.

The decision to stop new bookings on European and domestic flights came into action to comply with Heathrow's cap on passenger numbers.

Some airlines have criticised the actions taken by the airport.

A spokesperson at Heathrow said it would be "disappointing" if "any airline would want to put profit ahead of a safe and reliable passenger journey".
