Bristol’s Colston statue on display again a year after being pulled down

It's been 12 months since a statue of the slave trader Edward Colston was torn from its plinth in Bristol's centre and dumped in the harbour.

Ever since, there's been intense debate over what to do with monuments and other symbols of our contested heritage, with the government pledging to protect threatened statues.

Colston's Bronze goes on temporary display tomorrow, in part of what the city council says is an attempt to start a conversation about Bristol's history.
