The federal government has prepared the initial draft of the federal budget for the next financial year and the three-year budget strategy paper and has started consultations with the IMF on the budget.


According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, the process of consultation with the IMF team will continue next week, the budget strategy paper can be presented to the federal cabinet next week.

In the next fiscal year's federal budget, the proposal to set the GDP target at 3.5 percent, the inflation target at 21 percent and the FBR tax collection target at Rs 8879 billion is under consideration.

Sources say that the target of growth will be determined on the basis of the tax collections received during the current financial year, the size of the defense budget is expected to be around 1700 billion rupees.
