The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has doubled the tax on cigarettes even before the approval of the Mini Budget.
A mini-budget of Rs 170 billion will be presented in the parliament today on the terms of the IMF, but the FBR doubled the tax on cigarettes before the mini-budget was approved.
The Federal Board of Revenue has issued a notification to increase the federal excise duty on locally produced cigarettes.
