The Chief Justice of Pakistan has said that he would welcome a constitutional amendment for the right of appeal in Article 184(3) and the constitutional authority can only be changed through a constitutional amendment.


A three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by the Chief Justice, heard the petitions against the Review and Judgment Act.

PTI lawyer Barrister Ali Zafar argued that the decision said the court should be very hesitant and cautious in reopening its old decision. The decision emphasized the importance of the finality of Supreme Court decisions.
