A push for infrastructure and a 30 per cent tax on transfer or sale of digital assets were among the key headlines of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's Budget 2022. The income tax rates have been kept unchanged. When the Finance Minister was asked on why she hasn't given relied to the common man, on a lighter note, she said, at least I haven't increased the tax burden. The Opposition has claimed that budget has nothing really to offer to the deprived, salaried class. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has countered that, saying the budget will benefit all, especially the poor and the backward.
