Residents of Roca Sales in southern Brazil were taking stock of the damage to their homes and belongings on Thursday, after a powerful cyclone hit the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The rains in Brazil's far south left at least 39 people dead and flooded houses and swelled up rivers.
According to the Rio Grande do Sul government, heavy rains caused by the extratropical cyclone have affected 80 cities and left more than 2,300 people homeless and over 3,900 displaced.
Independent weather forecasters MetSul and Climatempo cautioned Rio Grande do Sul could get more heavy showers on Thursday and Friday.
