British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced Wednesday that he would be outlining plans Feb. 21 on how the country would "live with COVID," including the lifting of all remaining restrictions, such as the legal requirement to isolate if a person tests positive for COVID-19.

The requirement is due to end on March 24, but Johnson said should "encouraging" data trends continue, the measures would end one month early.

However, the announcement came as a new photo emerged apparently showing Johnson at his Downing Street residence in December 2020 with a staff member wearing tinsel and an opened prosecco bottle on the desk. A Labour MP, Fabian Hamilton, questioned the prime minister on the photograph, but Johnson replied that the member was "completely in error" when asked if he would refer the event to the police for investigation into the "partygate" scandal.
