Boeing faces leadership shakeup following months of aircraft safety issues

After months of technical failures and serious safety issues, the head of Boeing has announced he’s stepping down.

Boeing President and CEO Dave Calhoun, and other senior company leaders, announced they were leaving in a statement early Monday.

Among the issues the aerospace giant has faced: a door plug was torn from a plan in mid-air in January, tires have fallen off other planes and most recently, a sudden drop in a plane’s altitude injured at least 50 people.

As Anne Gaviola explains, analysts say a shakeup is needed at the company which has long put profits over safety.
