There has been political outcry after the Vedanta-Foxconn signed a deal with the Gujarat government to set up the much-awaited semiconductor plant project, that, until the last minute, was slated for Maharashtra, whose government had offered the companies a massive subsidy for the same. In another instance, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was left red-faced after BMW denied the Punjab government's claim that BMW was setting up a manufacturing unit in the state. On Breaking Views tonight, we discuss how states are battling for big business, and, as the opposition says, if the centre is favouring Gujarat over other states.
