US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says Israel's prime minister has "reaffirmed his commitment" to a new cease-fire in the Gaza Strip.

After talking to relatives of those taken hostage to Gaza on October 7, Blinken said the longer the conflict drags on the higher the chance of regional spread. Families have been protesting outside the hotel where Blinken's been meeting with Israeli officials. On Monday, the UN Security Council endorsed the US-backed cease-fire proposal. But there's still no official line from Israel on the plan.
