Amid outcry over high fuel prices in India, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Thursday cleared the air about the issue and stated that BJP ruled states have decreased VAT on fuel. Talking to ANI, the minister said, "We import 85 per cent of utilisation of petrol that includes international prices, exchange rate, insurance and dealer commission. The central government has decreased excise duty of Rs 5 on petrol and Rs 10 on diesel. BJP ruled states have decreased VAT on fuel." (Video Credit: ANI)
