Unscheduled electric power cuts owing to gap in demand and supply, particularly in the rural areas, is turning into a major political issue in Madhya Pradesh. Not only has the opposition Congress gone on the offensive against the state government, but at least three ruling BJP MLAs, including ex-minister Ajay Vishnoi, too have voiced concern over the issue.
