Sun Zhuo was playing while his father, Sun Haiyang, slept nearby, when the then four-year-old was lured away with sweets, according to police. Reports state the suspected kidnapper, now under arrest, ‘gave’ Zhuo to a couple with the surname Guo.

Haiyand and mother Peng Siying turned their food stall into a huge missing persons notice and even sold their properties to offer rewards of up to 200,000 yuan ($31,000), to anyone with clues on Zhuo’s whereabouts.
The tragic tale was turned into a screenplay called ‘Dearest,’ a 2014 box-office hit.

After many false discoveries, finally, there was a DNA match for their son.

However, Zhuo, now 18, wishes to stay with his ‘adoptive’ parents, who’ve raised him for more than a decade, even though they are under investigation by police.
