After an Ontario court struck down Bill 124, the Ford government has responded and plans to appeal the court ruling of the controversial bill that limited wages for public sector workers.

For the past three years, Bill 124 has been a constant source of anger for thousands of public sector employees. The law would limit their wages, capping their increases at 1 per cent per year.

Multiple unions took the Ford government to court, and a judge struck down the law on Tuesday saying that it interferes with bargaining rights and is unconstitutional.

The province now has two avenues: either appeal the bill, or pay employees billions of dollars. Global’s Colin D'Mello has more of the details.
