White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki pushed back at Democratic progressives who suggested U.S. President Joe Biden hasn’t been vocal enough on voting rights ahead of an important Senate vote on election legislation.
She said the president is “revolted by the wave of anti-voter laws” in Republican-led states which she said is in response to “the same repeatedly disproven laws that led to an assault on our Capitol."
Psaki said Biden has empowered nominees at the Department of Justice who have been leading advocates for voting rights, and said he would be “standing with advocates in this fight for the foreseeable future.”
