Biden hits out at Russia over 'wrongful' jailing of US reporter

US President Joe Biden says he is "pushing hard" for the release of the journalist Evan Gershkovich after the American was jailed for 16 years in Russia.

The Wall Street Journal journalist was accused of spying for the CIA in what the US said was a politically-motivated case.

Mr Gershkovich was the first US journalist arrested on spying charges in Russia since the Cold War.
