As the world watches the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban, at the White House, United States President Joe Biden is confronting the biggest crisis of his presidency so far.
In his first address after the Taliban seized Kabul, Biden defended his decision to pull out troops and blamed the Afghan government and its military for the crisis.
Meanwhile, Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said the ongoing evacuation of diplomats and Afghan allies from Kabul was botched by the White House and called it a "sad day for the United States of America".
