Before boarding Marine One outside the White House in Washington, DC on Wednesday, United States President Joe Biden took several questions, including his thoughts on the ongoing infighting between Republicans over the vote for Speaker of the House.

The President said it is "embarrassing" a Speaker has not been chosen with "the rest of the world watching." Biden also said that the delayed vote is "not my problem," and insisted he's still able to perform presidential duties despite the lack of a Speaker of the House.

The fight over who will lead the House after Republicans gained a majority in November’s midterm elections entered its second day on Wednesday after the expected frontrunner Kevin McCarthy weathered three failed votes the day prior. Hardline members of his party oppose McCarthy’s candidacy to succeed Democrat Nancy Pelosi as speaker.

Tuesday marked the first time in 100 years that the U.S. House failed to elect a speaker on its first day in session.
