Post-debate concerns over President Biden’s neurological health spiked on Monday following reports of a Parkinson’s specialist visiting the White House several times since 2022.
After White House Press Secretary refused to answer many questions about the visits of neurologist Dr. Kevin Cannard, the White House released a letter from White House physician Kevin O’Connor on Monday night. In it, he confirmed Cannard evaluated Biden on three of those visits but maintained he did so as a neurologist more broadly and as part of the President’s annual physical exams. No signs of Parkinson’s, stroke or multiple sclerosis were reported.
Cannard is a neurologist at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center also visits the White House to treat active-duty military and staff assigned to the premises.
Biden has blamed his debate performance on a cold, jet lag and busy schedule.
