Auckland secondary school reintroducing NCEA level one at the request of students

Whangaparāoa college initially dropped the national qualification four years ago due to the "continual reassessment" of learners.

Principal Steve McCracken says teachers felt forced to teach to the assessment, rather than the curriculum that was rich and knowledgeable... but now they're in a better position to bring it back.
