With a heat wave impacting a large portion of southern Ontario, most people try to spend as little time outdoors as possible.

But that’s not always an option though – some asylum seekers who came to Canada seeking a better life are now sleeping on the sidewalk outside a Toronto shelter assessment and referral centre.

“I’ve just been sleeping outside,” says one asylum seeker who spoke with Global News.
