April 6, 2023: Planned Parenthood sues Idaho, Macron-Xi talks, Bakhmut battle, Trump, Top Iranian, Saudi envoys meet in China

1. A Planned Parenthood affiliate and two doctors filed a lawsuit seeking to block Idaho authorities from punishing healthcare providers for referring patients to get abortions in other states.

2. French President Emmanuel Macron urged China's Xi Jinping on Thursday to reason with close ally Russia and help end the Ukraine war, while Xi responded by saying he hoped the two sides could hold peace negotiations as soon as possible.

3. Ukrainian and Russian forces battled in the streets of Bakhmut, eastern Ukraine's devastated "fortress" city, and Ukrainian soldiers said they were ready to launch their long-anticipated counter-offensive once the weather improves.
