A group of protesters speaking out against a vaccine mandate and supporting basketball point-guard Kyrie Irving – who has refused to be vaccinated against COVID-19 – broke through the barriers at Barclay’s Center about an hour before tip-off on Sunday.
Irving, who plays for the Brooklyn Nets, has been sidelined for not following the city’s vaccine mandate.
Under the mandate, professional athletes can not play or practice in public venues unless they have been vaccinated.
On Sunday, the Nets held their first home game of the season against the Charlotte Hornets.
