Anthony Rota steps down as House of Commons Speaker

Liberal MP Anthony Rota announced Tuesday he is stepping down as House of Commons Speaker after inviting a Ukrainian who fought in a Nazi unit during the Second World War to Parliament during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit last week. Rota's resignation will take effect at the end of the sitting day on Wednesday.
