Campaigners have expressed their anger after Sir John Major said victims of the infected blood scandal had had "incredibly bad luck."

Sir John Major is the most senior politician to give evidence at the ongoing Infected Blood Inquiry.

Around three-thousand people died after becoming infected with HIV or Hepatitis C through infected blood products imported from the United States in the 1970s and 1980s.
