Alex Batty: British boy missing for 6 years says boredom drove him to flee

A British teen, who resurfaced last week after going missing six years ago, is opening up about his mysterious life abroad. Alex Batty is now back in the U.K. after disappearing in Spain in 2017 while travelling with his mother and grandfather.

Now 17, Batty said he initially lied to authorities about his return to society to protect his family, but he's now revealing some of the intricate details of his time away from home.

"I was safe and I was always healthy, but no social life, no meeting people my own age, kind of always being isolated becomes boring to say the least, really," Batty told the Sun.
