Consecutive days of heavy rain are bringing relief and optimism to Alberta, where the precipitation has helped extinguish the province's dozens of raging wildfires.
Additionally, the special air quality statement has been lifted in southern cities such as Edmonton and the rainfall is expected to help eliminate some of the smoke farther north.
