Al Qaeda killing: al-Zawahiri's whereabouts confirmed by 'visual evidence' before strike

US National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby said US intelligence collected "visual evidence" and "evidence provided by other means" to confirm that the man who was later hit and killed by the drone strike was Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.

He went on to say he couldn't reveal much more information, but that the evidence gave "high confidence".
