The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday granted interim bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan for two weeks in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

A division bench comprising Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz announced the ruling after it was resumed following a short break for Friday prayers. The hearing, which started with around two hours delay, was adjourned minutes after the former premier was brought to the courtroom amid tight security.

A large number of PTI lawyers and leaders were present in the court, while a heavy contingent of police, Frontier Corps (FC), and Rangers had been deployed to avoid any untoward situation.
