Afghanistan is one of the most oppressive regimes in the world for women struggling to maintain their basic human rights, their freedom and their identity.

Since the Taliban regained control, women have found it increasingly difficult to have their voices heard.

Former Deputy speaker of Parliament in Afghanistan, Fawzia Koofi, told Sky's Mark Austin: "Every day with women across the country, what the Taliban do to us is a gender apartheid."
